Proudly serving seniors since 1972

Meals On Wheels

Every Monday through Friday, Meals on Wheels volunteers deliver hot, nutritious lunchtime meals to 428 homebound seniors who are unable to prepare their own meals. This vital program is a source of much-needed nutrition, provides welcome, daily contact with senior clients, and serves as a means to regularly check recipients' welfare.

Frozen Meals Program

Meals on Wheels Montgomery AL Metro Area provides frozen meals to assist senior citizens who are at risk of losing their independence because of difficulty in preparing or acquiring ingredients for nutritional meals. The Frozen Meals Program was established to provide seniors a well-balanced, nutritious meal. It was developed to serve those who are not able to participate in our hot Meals on Wheels program due to an extensive waiting list. MOWMAMA has Frozen Meals programs in Autauga, Elmore, and Montgomery Counties and in the Town of Pike Road.

The Weekend Frozen Meals program, helps nutritionally at-risk individuals receive a meal over the weekend. On average, 92% of meal clients are nutritionally at-risk.

Pet Food Program

For many seniors, their pets make life worthwhile. After realizing our seniors were sharing their Meals on Wheels hot lunch with their pets, Meals on Wheels launched the Pet Food Program in December 2014 to help seniors supplement pet food for their pets. Twice a month, the pet food program provides cat and dog food for the pets of hot and frozen meal recipients.

Holiday Bags

Each December, Meals on Wheels Montgomery AL Metro Area delivers a large brown bag of groceries and hygiene products to over 450 of the seniors we serve. The Holiday Bags Program allows us to sustain our clients for a week during the holidays.

Please join us in making the annual Holiday Bags Program a joyous one for the seniors in Montgomery.
